ERS is an independent co-educational day school which provides a caring and highly supportive environment for pupils Y3-Y13 with a range of additional needs. The school’s culture and Christian ethos provides an environment which enables pupils, who have often not coped in their previous educational experience, to thrive and not just survive.
The school focuses on providing a calm and secure environment in which the integration of specialist provision and support into classroom teaching enables pupils to gain confidence and achieve their very best.
We have approximately 160 pupils – the majority of whom have EHCPs – and a considerable staff team including SEN specialists, Teachers and Learning Support Assistants. All teaching is in small classes with additional one-to-one specialist teaching and therapy sessions integrated into the school day. Pupils take a range of qualifications at the end of Key Stage 4 and in the 6th form, which include GCSEs and a wide variety of accredited courses and qualifications to suit their educational and social needs.
We are seeking to appoint a Head who will take a major role in leading the strategic development and day-to-day operations of the school, directing and supporting the senior staff team across all disciplines to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Board to sustain and build on the work done to date and to ensure the school continues to move forward in a way that is to the benefit of its pupils, staff and parents. This is an opportunity to take on new, wide-ranging, responsibilities and to make a real impact in the life and direction of the school in its next phase.
We are looking for an individual with experience in educational leadership, particularly in the field of SEN and SEMH, who has a genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of pupils to help them achieve their full potential.
